Our Reviews

Delicious food and friendly staff!
Fabulous cafe, delicious food at reasonable prices, caters for all tastes and serves yummy cakes too. Staff very friendly and helpful, recommend you book a table as this place gets very busy. 5*

We pre booked a table for 9 people. We were asked if it was possible to pre order the main meals, which proved an excellent service. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The waitresses Jacqui and Bethany were very attentive and polite. It was a very relaxed occasion and would certainly visit again.

Excellent service for my wife's birthday brunch topped off with a card and small bottle of Prosecco from the team which was a really nice touch.

Shown to table immediately and drinks orders taken within 2 minutes despite being really busy. Service was friendly and prompt without feeling rushed. Will definitely be returning very soon.

This is a very nice place to enjoy a coffee.
The owner was so pleasant and you could tell he really cared about his customers experience at 1867.

Have been eating at this venue for 30 years and under the new ownership it still offers good food, a very friendly welcome and service with a smile. Good menu for those with specific dietary needs and nothing is too much trouble. Thoroughly recommended and a great place to meet friends or family.

We were able to reserve a table in the outside sheltered area. It was such a lovely environment with a lovely atmosphere and great service. The food was excellent and the prices were very reasonable. We can’t wait to visit again!

I booked lunch here for a 60th birthday. There were 11 of us and a new born baby. We sat in the conservatory and tables were laid out when we arrived and they'd taken into account that I said there would be a pram. They were very patient with us when ordering and had answers to all our questions regarding the food. We took our own birthday cake and all the waitresses brought it to the table singing happy birthday after our meal.
Shout out to Jacqui & Claire who went above and beyond to look after us.

Hosted a baby shower here for a friend and couldn’t have wished for better food, service or atmosphere. We all had afternoon and despite a range of dietary requirements everyone was very happy and thoroughly enjoyed the food and drinks. Along with this I was able to arrive a little earlier to set up the table which was great. We also completely lost track of time but were not asked to leave once despite staying after closing time. Couldn’t recommend 1867 more to anyone wishing to hold a baby shower or go for afternoon tea etc. Thank you so much for the fantastic service, particularly Christina and Liv. We will be back!

I would like to say it was lovely to discover that 1867 have added a cooked weekend breakfast to there menu. My friend and i are regular visitors. It was also lovely to see the vastly improved seating area and decor changes. It has made it a very pleasant place to visit. I would also like to mention how helpfull and polite the staff are at making you welcome. Thankyou to all the staff for making our visits very enjoyable. Keep up the good work!!

This is my favourite place to meet with friends; I cannot offer enough praise about the staff, the surroundings, the food is always excellent and very reasonably priced. We have always been treated so well- absolutely no pressure with regard to time; Jacqui is always so welcoming and kind-thank you! Claire looked after us very well today ,as do all the staff when I have visited. I always book a table in advance because of the popularity of the restaurant.

We had a delicious home made quiche Lorraine and salad. For pudding we had hot chocolate cake and ice cream and the most amazing coffee and walnut cake I have ever eaten.
Staff were lovely. Good service. Would definitely recommend .

Fabulous food, service and atmosphere. Couldn't fault anything, I had a brie and cranberry toastie and my friend had a ham, cheese and pineapple toastie. They were both delicious. The drinks were presented beautifully, one even had 1867 sprinkled in cinnamon on it (which everyone wanted to see). We also had desert which was delicious.

Moored on the canal and it was only a 15min walk to the shopping village. Called in for breakfast and although we hadn't booked they had a table for us. The coffee and food was lovely.
