ABOUT THE 1867
We’re open from 9:15am every day, including bank holidays, except Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and Easter Sunday.
Our Breakfast menu is served until 11:30am, with Lunch, Lite Bites, and Cakes available from 11:30am. Last orders for hot food are at 3pm every day. Afternoon Tea is served from 2:30pm to 4:00pm—please pre-book and let us know about any dietary requirements.

Whether you’re stopping by for a quick pick-me-up, enjoying a leisurely meal, or catching up with friends. Here, every moment is about connection, comfort, and community. Here’s why we do what we do:

We’re passionate about every cup we serve. The Coffee Crew here at the 1867 take pride in crafting delightful COFFEE, and love sharing stories with our friends along the way.
FOOD.
Our FOOD is all about comfort, made fresh with locally sourced quality ingredients. It’s inspired by the treats and flavours that our regular guest and Kitchen Crew love.
FRIENDS.
The 1867 is more than an eatery; it’s a meeting place. We treat our guests like FRIENDS, where new faces and familiar friends alike are always welcome. We take pleasure in making sure that everyone leaves feeling better than when they came in.
Our History
History of The 1867 at Heart of the Shires Shopping Village
Heart of the Shires Shopping Village, formerly part of ‘Home Farm,’ is steeped in history. Built in 1867, Home Farm originally served as a Victorian farmhouse and barns, and its legacy is still visible today in the brickwork of the 1867 restaurant and surrounding buildings. The area has been inhabited for centuries, with the nearby village of Norton tracing its origins to Roman times and being recorded in the Domesday Book.
The farm, once owned by the Thornton family of Brockhall Hall, passed to the Brodie family in the early 1900s before being transformed into a shopping village by John Wilson in the 1980s. The site retains much of its historic charm, with its original stables and farmhouse repurposed into shops and dining spaces. Renovations in 2015 modernized the village while preserving its Victorian red-brick character. In 2023/2024, the addition of The Plant Barn expanded the site, echoing the style of its original Dutch barn.

We’re happy to cater for larger groups and celebrations—just let our event crew know in advance so we can make the necessary arrangements. Our kitchen crew will do their best to accommodate dietary needs; please let us know on arrival.
Lunchtimes can get busy, so please bear with us—we really don’t want to disappoint anyone. If you’re short on time, call us on 01327 342284 to guarantee a table.
When you arrive at the Shopping Village, pop in and, if we’re busy, leave your name and mobile number—we’ll call you as soon as a table is ready. There are plenty of lovely shops to explore while you wait, and we’ll always give you an honest wait time. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram to stay updated on our seasonal food options.
Our crew want you to leave feeling better than when you came in, and we’ll do everything we can to make that happen.
